This month I have covered 'Don't Talk (Put Your Head on my Shoulder)' from 'Pet Sounds' using 'The Pet Sounds Sessions' boxed set which comprises a CD of just the musical backing tracks and a second with only the vocals on it.
I worked out what each of the instruments are playing, replicating them as faithfully as possible using a computer program before adding my voice over and bringing in Brian Wilson's vocal part from the vocal CD.
The first link is to my copy of Brian Wilson playing an early version of the song on solo piano.
The second link is to my version of the full arrangement. It was much too high for me to sing and so I put it a different key, with the result that, where I have used Brian Wilson's original vocal track, it functions as a harmony part.

hey i'm sorry about my comments regarding your singing. i never meant it to become anything you would feel the need to explain. i think the work you are doing with these recordings is very worthwhile and beautiful too. your arrangements capture the essence of the music and bring out the specialness of it. i like the vibraphone in this one. and you are right about the chord change, that is a wakening part of the song.i look forward to hearing more
